1. BASS LAKE FAMILY WEEKEND ESCAPE
Emerald green waters, majestic sugar and ponderosa pines, and Mother Nature… come see the beauty that is Bass Lake, beautifully nestled in the Sierra Foothills. Gather the whole gang—the cabin sleeps up to ten—for some good old-fashioned lake fun! The lake has several marinas where you can rent ski boats, water scooters, patio boats, and more. Find a quiet cove to wet a fishing line or lay out a delicious spread shore-side and take a dip. The water is perfect!
This three-bedroom, two-bath home has beautiful slate walkways and the views from the deck to the lake are unrestricted so you can enjoy the postcard scene whenever you like. Additionally, the deck area overlooks the boat slip so you can have the best of both worlds: go to the slip to be closer to the action or watch from the comfort of the cabin! Amenities include fireplace, flat screen "smart" TV, cable TV, DVD, WIFI, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, gas BBQ, portable air conditioning unit. The home is within walking distance to the Pines Village; what’s not to love?

The Kirby-Hart family’s two-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow has a private feel, but is walking distance to St. Helena’s picturesque main street, with its wide variety of excellent restaurants, welcoming galleries, and eminently browsable shops.
Take advantage of the beautiful outdoors and try biking, hiking or a round of golf… or get adventurous with a hot air balloon ride! Visit some of Napa’s famed wineries for an enticing afternoon treat or bring the kids out to see Old Faithful Geyser in Calistoga and feed the goats. You’ll be perfectly positioned to discover (or rediscover!) all that Napa has to offer.

5. PERSIAN FEAST IN A HISTORIC HOME
Spend a delightful Saturday evening exploring the flavors of the Persian empire in a historical and beautiful North Berkeley home. Originally built in 1916 and one of the few houses to survive the great Berkeley fire of 1923, the home of EB parents Sara Rahimian and Christopher Harrelson was designed by James Plachek, the architect behind the North Berkeley and Central public libraries. Discover the beautifully renovated space—which has preserved the original design and character of the house, while being adapted to modern living needs—as you prepare to indulge in the flavors of Iran.
Enjoy Persian style roast chicken with barberry sauce, savory veal and green bean stew, and the favorite tachin, Persian layered rice. Your intimate party will be hosted in the stunning Piedmont home of Jacqueline Van Lang and Daniel Sivolella. Wearing traditional costumes and bells, former EB parent Sylvie Baudart and her daughter Asha, along with EB parent Radhika Rao and her daughter Kira will enchant you with a Kathak performance, the ancient, classical Indian dance. Each course will showcase the best wines Provence has to offer, courtesy of EB alumni parents Chris Stauffenegger of Vigneron Imports and Kermit Lynch of Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, specialists in that ambrosial French liquid.
The delectable menu will be prepared by EB alumni parents Marie-José Sat and Christine Chapon, Provence natives, whose talent in the kitchen is as famed among their friends as the lavender fields of Provence! Grab your mod squad and step back in time with us for a Mad Men inspired cocktail and vinyl party hosted at the lovely home of Board Chair Emma Gimon and her husband Eric in the Berkeley hills. There will be Swedish meatballs and martinis a plenty. Bring in your favorite record from that period to be played by our fabulous DJ. Dress to impress in 1960s clothing: think Don Draper and Joan Harris, not Sonny & Cher. Light appetizers and cocktails will keep you in the party mood.
