You’ve never visited France like this before. Immerse yourself in a completely unique experience as you spend a week in an original 12th century home, lovingly restored and updated to preserve the historical character and family heritage of the space. Originally part of a cloister, this home possesses a rich history: it once housed an industrial horticulture business, as well as a nougat production space before becoming a family home. Situated in the quaint, historic village of Ollioules near Toulon, off the Côte d’Azur, you’ll be transported back in time with all the comforts of modern-day living.
Explore the best of southern France; you’ll be perfectly poised to linger peacefully or head out on an adventure. Hop over to nearby Sanary-sur-Mer to promenade along the harbor and see the historic boats, or take a tour of Bandol and its surrounding vineyards to sample some of the most prestigious wines in all of France (the rosé is a must-try!) Beaches abound with no shortage of water fun, not to mention neighboring castles, charming villages, and countless cafes offer a vacation like no other.
After a full day of exploring, head back to your home base for a quiet and relaxing evening. Featuring exceptional arched spaces, swings in the vaulted living room, and four different floors with a central staircase, this is a whimsical, one-of-a-kind space where hidden treasures abound. With four bedrooms each on a different floor, lack of privacy is never an issue for your 7 or 8 guests. Meet up for meals in the updated kitchen or take your morning croissant out on the terrace. Don’t miss this chance for an unexpected stay in a wonderful location comfortably settled between ancient and modern times.
Embark on the trip of a lifetime as you spend a week in the wild, experiencing the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve from two of the finest tented safari camps in all of Africa. Arrive into Nairobi and spend an overnight in the vibrant capital city before boarding a short flight to Kenya’s most abundant wildlife haven.
You’ll be well-taken care of by the McGowan-Townsend’s expert safari company, Next Adventure, where all your needs will be met with a smile. Your adventure begins with two nights at an intimate, forested camp in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, where waving grasslands, marshes, and hilly outcrops make for a stunning landscape. Your morning and afternoon game drives will explore an area famous for an extraordinary density of big cats; have your cameras at the ready!
Grazing species like gazelle, topi, impala, zebra, buffalo and giraffe roam the plains in staggering numbers along with hippo, black rhino and more than five thousand elephants who call the Mara home. However, everyone, including you, will be on the lookout for predators like crocodile, jackal, hyena, and the iconic big cats like lion, leopard and cheetah who prey on the large herbivores.
Continue your safari with three nights at your next location, a cozy and stylish tented camp right on the banks of the iconic Mara River. You’ll see more wildlife than you ever dreamed of, and sleep soundly after your action-packed days. Head home with memories (and photographs) you’ll never forget or, if you couldn’t get enough, extend your trip with a walking safari in Kenya’s Northern Rangelands or a few days gorilla trekking in Rwanda! This is truly the trip of a lifetime and one you won’t want to miss!

Be sure to bring your curiosity as you discuss the craftsmanship involved in making these uniquely Californian wines with an expert. After rave reviews from last year’s dinner, this will definitely be a night to remember with fabulous wines and sure to be excellent conversation!

Combining something treasured with something new, we invite you to enjoy the ultimate dining experience with our charismatic new Head of School, Mehdi Lazar. Head across the bridge… and into Greece! You’ll feel as if that’s where you’ve arrived as you savor the sumptuous cuisine and exquisite hospitality of San Francisco’s Kokkari Estiatorio. This Mediterranean gem showcases the best of Greek food—crispy zucchini cakes, grilled whole fish, traditional moussaka, tender lamb—and has the chops to back it up, with scores placing it in the “extraordinary to perfection” rating of the Zagat in every single category. Even President Bill Clinton agreed after his trip to Kokkari!
Spend ten days in a charming two-bedroom apartment located in the 17th arrondissement, seeing what it means to live in an authentic French neighborhood. Furnished in a cozy and relaxed style, this 75-square meter apartment has been recently remodeled with rooms that face a quiet courtyard. Start your day off with a visit to the local baker for some fresh croissants, shop for groceries at the organic market, then sip a café au lait as you people watch. Head to one of the many signature French bistros in the area for dinner and see why some Parisians never leave their neighborhood!
Get the best of both worlds—the quiet life and the big city lights—as your nearest metro stop is just three blocks away, and can take you anywhere you want to go. Walk to the Opera and l’Arc de Triomphe for some irresistible eye candy; check out the iconic Tour Eiffel and Parc Monceau, and visit all the areas that have made this one of the most beloved cities in the world. Spend your end-of-the-year holidays in Paris for a romantic Christmas vacation, or visit in the summer when the birds are singing and the gardens are in bloom… your choice! Either way, you can’t go wrong; a visit to the city of lights is always one to remember!
Friends, food, and music: it’s the perfect combination. Get ready for a night of sophistication and elegance as your group of eight friends indulges in a fantastically prepared meal accompanied by that quintessentially American music: jazz. Start the night off with a glass of bubbly and some musical accompaniment in the beautiful, newly redesigned Piedmont home of Stephanie and Aaron Ross. Your authentic French dinner will set the mood for the snazzy soiree, featuring a four-course, made-from-scratch menu from chef Sophie Le Doré. Start off with a flavorful duo of tomato tartelette and wild fish bite, then choose from beef tenderloin or wild seasonal fish with beautiful risotto and vegetables for your main. In true French fashion, your salad and cheese course follow (with homemade baked bread!), and finish it all off with that classic French millefeuille dessert and extra treat, cannelés fresh from the oven!
Between each course, you’ll be treated to a live jazz duo featuring one of EB’s very own alums! Daniel Marschak is an accomplished jazz pianist, composer, and educator. He’ll accompany a talented vocalist who will make you feel like you’re in your own private jazz club. After your delectable meal, enjoy a full performance from the duo. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy a wonderful evening.
